Werner Ehler Clasen, age 92 years, 1 month, 11 days, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at McLaren Macomb Hospital, Mt. Clemens. He was born March 13, 1921 in Ottertail, Minnesota, the son of the late Henry and Dora (Thalman) Clasen. Werner was united in marriage with Miss Alma Betty Hanna on January 19, 1946 in Detroit. Werner served his country with the United States Army Air Force during WWII from 1943 to 1945. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation and had worked on the Redstone missile project, Department of Street Railways as a bus driver for five years, A.T.A.C, of Warren, in design engineering and had been a fulltime farmer with over 1,000 hogs. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Richmond and was past treasurer and chairman of the congregation. He was a board member of Production Credit of Lapeer and enjoyed traveling. Werner had spent his last 19 winters in Florida where he loved to golf.
Mr. Clasen is survived by his wife,a daughter and son-in-law, one grandson, two siblings and
several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Reinhard, Alvin, Margaret Holtje, Amanda Parr and Irma Dierks.
