Thursday, 30 November 1911---GADSDEN EVENING JOURNAL .
Margaret, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Cross, died at their home on Turrentine Avenue at noon today.
Margaret was taken ill with acute diptheria late yesterday and last night she was seriously ill. From them on she grew worse and at noon she passed away. Her death is a frightful blow to the parents and relatives.
Margaret Cross was 14 years old, being the oldest child. She was a pretty child and gave promise of being a beautiful as well as a most useful woman.
The funeral arrangements have not been announced.

The funeral of Margaret Cross, a 16-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Cross, who died yesterday at noon, will be held at the family residence on Turrentine Avenue tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.
The interment will be at Forrest cemetery.
The death of this little girl was most tragic and it is a frightful blow to her parents.
Margaret went home from school last Tuesday with a sore throat. On Wednesday both sides were affected. On Thursday morning there appeared to be no immediate danger. Near noon anti-toxin was administered and within twenty minutes afterwards she was a corpse.
