Oran was the first born child of Clarence Alvin and Gertrude Mabel Morris. In 1905 he contracted diptheria and passed away on the 19th of April. Oran was buried in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Hebron, Nebraska. (Written history prepared by Hazel Viola Morris, Oran's sister, for Adams'family historian, Ervan M. Adams.)

It is the belief of Barbara Louise Hemenover Cates, the Morris' granddaughter, that Grandfather Clarence made the monument to adorn his first born's grave. When visiting Hebron in the late 1990's, she walked the Rose Hill Cemetery looking for Oran's grave. The monument was not to be found. It is her belief that the monument deteriotated due to exposure to the elements.
