NEW LONDON - Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake for Otis R. Halvorson, 89, who died Saturday at Rice Memorial Hospital, Willmar.
The Rev. Irving and the Rev. Joyce Sandberg will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home in New London and at the church one hour prior to services.
Mr. Halvorson was born Dec. 19, 1895 in Norway Lake Township, Kandiyohi County, to the late Ole and Ragna (Knudson) Halvorson and farmed near New London until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake, a 25-year member of the Rural Electric Association Board and Lake Andrew Township Board and served on the board of directors of First State Bank of New London more than 45 years.
Survivors include a cousin, Nellie Skare.
He was preceded in death by brother and sister, Herman and Mabel.
