Deacon Edmund Bryant moved his family from New Ipswich to Belmont (Mechanicsville, Vermont) by way of Chester, Windsor VT around 1800-1801. They lived in Mount Holly until his wife and he died.
Edmund's son Edmund preceeded him in death by 10 months. They are buried next to one another along side their wives in Old Mechanicsville Cemetery.
"Deacon Edmund Bryant was one of the early settlers (of Mt. Holly) and one of the substantial men of the town; particularly prominent in religious affairs; was one of the originators of the Baptist Church and it's first presiding officer. He died December 19, 1839, aged seventy-one years, honored by the entire community."
