George Faurot Dies In West

George G. Faurot, 75, brother of Lee C. Faurot, 320 Garfield Ave., died yesterday in his Seattle, Wash., home after a 10-year illness.

Mr. Faurot, a Lima native, was a pioneer oil man in the western Oklahoma and Kansas fields. Later, for 30 years, he operated a dancing school in Seattle, Wash.

He was a graduate of Lima High School and at the time of commencement exercises here in 1898, he was a member of the armed forces fighting in the Spanish-American War. According to his brother, Lee, a rifle was placed in Faurot's seat at the commencement exercises. He also attended Ohio Wesleyan University and was active in athletics there.

Also surviving are his widow, Nellie O., a daughter, Mrs. Frances Maurer, both of Seattle, and a son, George Wesley Faurot, Arlington, Va.

Services and burial will be in Seattle tomorrow.
