NORTH LIBERTY - Dean C. Morris, 84, of North Liberty, passed away at 3:10 PM on Wednesday, April 24th at Miller's Merry Manor in Walkerton after a short illness. Dean was born on December 18, 1928 in North Liberty, IN to the late Ford M. and Pauline (Benjamin) Morris and remained a lifelong area resident.

On June 17, 1951 in North Liberty he married Janet L. (Brown) who he loved and cherished. Dean is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Kevin D. (Denise) Morris of Brownsville, IN, and Jeffrey P. (LuAnne) Morris of South Bend; two sisters, Sharon L. (Ron) Vernon of Lancaster, Ohio and Kay G. (Doug) of Fort Wayne, IN; two brothers, Roger F. Morris of North Liberty and Jerry R. (Jean) Morris of South Bend; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Ann L. Douglas on November 7, 1999.

Dean was a truck driver for Lonzo Oil and retired from Fair Oil Co in 1990 after 37 years of service. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

Friends and family may visit on Friday, April 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Hanley and Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home South Bend. The funeral services will be held Saturday April 27th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Puhr officiating and graveside services to follow at Westlawn Cemetery in North Liberty with military services by the American Legion Post 365 and VFW Post 1954.

The family would like all memorial contributions made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637 or the Diabetes Association of St. Joseph County, 6910 N. Main St., Ste. 9 Mail Unit #10, Granger, IN 46530. Dean will be dearly missed by his loving family, friends and all who had the opportunity to know him during his life journey. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home located at 23421 State Rd 23/West Ireland Rd, South Bend, IN. handled arrangements and services and extends its deepest sympathy to the Morris family.
