Sarah Norris, 102, of Ashland, KY, passed away on April 25, 2013 at Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility. She was born on November 11, 1910 in Blaine, KY, daughter of the late Meredith and Della Boggs Edwards.

She was also preceded in death by
her husband, Emmett Norris;
a daughter, Louise Harmon;
sons, Leonard Norris, Emmet Norris, Jr. Berchie Norris, Freddy Allen Norris, Billy Ray Norris;
four grandchildren.

She started working at age 14 in the oil fields at the boarding house and throughout her life she worked in restaurants and also in Columbus, OH at the Government Depot sending parts across in WWII. She was married at age 15 and spent the rest of her life as a devoted homemaker. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by
a daughter, Leoda White & husband Robert of Dayton, OH;
a sister, Irene Coonrod of Greenfield, OH;
eighteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, Great-great grandchildren and many, many friends.

Funeral service at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel, officiated by Dr. C.J. Adkins. Burial in Yatesville Memorial Gardens in Busseyville, KY.
