Paul Frank was the son of Heinrich Ferdinand Frank and Emilie (Rothschild) Frank. He was a successful lawyer in Dortmund, Hessen, Germany. He and his wife Betti Bethy (Baum) Frank moved to Cologne, Germany around December 22, 1938, a little more than a month after Kristallnacht. Cologne was where Paul's brother, Ernst Bernhard Frank, lived. All three were deported to the Lodz, Poland Ghetto in 1941. They were never heard from again by relatives. They are all listed as murdered, according to the Shoah Victims Database. Paul Frank perished at the Lodz Ghetto on October 14, 1942, Ernst died at the Lodz Ghetto Hospital on December 2, 1942 and Betti died at the Lodz Ghetto on July 2, 1944, although family did not learn of their fate until finding the information in the Database in 2010. Paul and Betti were the parents of three children,Maud (Monica), Hans and Ingeborg.
