Born in Welch, W.Va., he was the son of the late Claud N. and Virginia Rhodes Waldrop.
Mr. Waldrop was retired from Celanese and was a member of Biltmore United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Biltmore Masonic Lodge #446 and the Hejaz Shriners. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served stateside.
Surviving are his former wife, Norma Council Waldrop of Ulmer, SC; three sons, Jimmy Waldrop and his wife, Martha, of Greenville, Bobby Waldrop of Taylors and Chuck Waldrop, and his wife, Staci, of Greer; a daughter, Donna Gandy, and her husband, Jeff, of Lawrenceville, GA; One grandson Jonathan Waldrop; two granddaughters, Ashley Gandy and Taylor Waldrop; two step-grandsons, Daniel Whitman and Brandon Lee; one step-granddaughter, Stephanie Turner; great-grandson Ian Bowers.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Keith Gandy.
