She moved to San Francisco at age 19 in 1905 and was a stenographer for Lindgren- Hicks and resided at 615 Mason Street.

In 1908, she met her husband who was a draftsman; they had no children.

As the purchasing agent for the H. G. Prince Canning Co. of Oakland, she was greatly valued for her keen business ability.

Following the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake, the cannery relocated to a much larger location in Oakland. The company proudly stated they were "Packers of California's Most Carefully Selected Preserved Fruits, Vegetables and Catsup."
