Indian Wars Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served in the United States Army as a Saddler with Company L, 8th United States Cavalry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for gallantry in action at Cienaga Springs, Utah, November 11, 1868. His citation was issued March 3, 1870.
