Betty Jean Criner, age 75 of Vendor, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Harrison, Arkansas.

The daughter of Garrett and Othel (Edens) Jones was born on August 23, 1937 at Hasty, Arkansas.

Betty loved making quilts, riding the Newton County Senior Center bus, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had worked for Levi Strauss, was a member of the Big Creek Assembly of God Church and was a lifetime resident of Newton County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loy Criner; one son, Lawton Criner; three brothers, Elmer Jones, Junior Jones, Doug Jones and one sister, Reva Marshall.

Survivors are two sons, Howard Criner of Vendor and Joe Criner of Vendor; one sister, Juanita Lane and husband, Red of Everton; four grandchildren, Michella Snyder of Harrison, Justin Criner, Ryan Criner and Jessica Criner all of Vendor; six great-grandchildren; long time friend whom she thought of as a son, James C. Richardson and wife, Lori of Vendor; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Big Creek Assembly of God Church with Pastor Phil Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in the Sexton Cemetery at Mt. Judea under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.

Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
