Enlisted, Feb 15, 1915, in Troop C Squadron A Cavalry, in New York City. Served with Troop C, Squadron A Cavalry, on the Mexican border, June - Dec 1916. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, June 21, 1917, from civilian life. Appointed the same day 1st Lieutenant ( RA ); Captain ( RA )( Temp ), Aug. 5, 1917; Major, May 12, 1919.
Assigned to 83rd Field Artillery, then as commander of Battery C, 76th Field Artillery, 3rd Division. Commander of the 1st Battalion 76th Field Artillery. Served with the Army of Occupation, Germany. Assigned to the Interallied Navigation Commission, American Delegate . Discharged as Major reverted to RA status

Awarded the Silver Star ; Serbian Order of the White Star
