Nancy Jane Greenlee Valentine, 78, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at her residence at The Good Samaritan Center, where she has lived for the last seven years. Jane, the daughter of Grace (Schwilck) and Earl Greenlee was born September 18, 1934 in Ottumwa, IA. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1951. Jane married Gene Parks in 1954 and to this union four children were born. Following their divorce Jane attended IHCC receiving her A.D.N. She worked as an R.N. for Ottumwa Regional Hospital before moving to San Diego, CA. in 1977. Jane spent her nursing career caring for newborns in the neonatal ICU of Childrens' Hospital in San Diego. In 1990 Jane married Dennis Valentine. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sister Lucille Perry; her brother Charles Greenlee and her son Anthony Gene Parks. Jane was a faithful Christian and will be remembered by many friends, family and the caring and attentive staff of the Good Samaritan Nursing Center and Hospice of Central Iowa (HCI). She is survived by her daughters, Becky and husband Mike Cline, Robyn and husband Dan Pasa; her son Dan and his wife Teresa Parks; 13 grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her sisters, Barbara Meeker of Ottumwa, Laurel Copeland formerly of Fairfield now Des Moines, her brother Robin and his wife Jo Greenlee of Virginia Beach, VA; 21 nephews and nieces.
