She was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Petersburg, the daughter of George L. and Minnie Mae Fairow Sherren. She married Thomas E. Nance Sr.; he died in 2002.
Mrs. Nance worked for the state of Illinois for 35 years and for Havana Healthcare.
Survivors: three sons, Thomas E. Jr. and George Alan Nance, both of Springfield, and Elson Lee Nance of Havana; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, LeRoy Sherren of Wisconsin and George Sherren of Danville; two sisters, Betty Kiper of Petersburg and Maxine Reller of East Moline; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Mott & Henning Funeral Home, Athens, the Rev. Ken Gennicks officiating. Burial: Joel Hall Cemetery, Athens.
