Born September 9, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Mary Alexander. Her grandmother, Laura B. Fleece cared for and raised her until she married John R. Osler, Sr. on July 19, 1948.
Mrs. Oslerworked as a clerk at the JC Penney Company. She was an avid collector of butterfly items and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, especially hummingbirds, reading, camping, watching "Wheel of Fortune", family gatherings, and being the extra kickball player when she was needed. She was a former member of the Chambersburg Fire Police, serving as their dispatcher for many years. In the early 1970's she was nominated Mother of the Year.
In addition to her husband, she is survived byher children, Linda Brent of Waynesboro, PA, Patti Divens (Bernard) of Chambersburg, PA, John R. Osler, Jr. (Kathy) of Shippensburg, PA, Kathleen Clopper (Bernard) of Chambersburg, PA, Kristine Rock (Joseph) of Shippensburg, PA, Melissa Willey (Randy) of Chamberburg; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and seven siblings.
In addition to her mother and grandmother, she was preceded in death by one sibling.
Burial will be Monday, May 17, 2010 in Norland Cemetery.
