George and Catherine married July 12, 1952 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Forest Hills, New York. Their best man was Lou Angelilli and maid of honor was Margaret Robert "Bobbe" Ranney. They lived in an apartment in New Rochelle, New York, in 1952 then bought their first home in 1953 in Riverside, Old Greenwich, Connecticut. They had four children: Margaret, Ruth, Robert and Mark.
George and Catherine Ranieri resided in Manhasset, New York from 1960 until his death in 1963.
He died of stomach cancer, age 41 years, on August 28, 1963 at St. Luke Roosevelt Hospital, New York City, New York.
