Wallingford Man Dies; Rites Tuesday
Oelwein Perry Anderson, 75, Wallingford, died at 5 a.m. March 24, 1973, at the Lutheran Lakeside Home, Emmetsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Wallingford Lutheran church with the Rev. Wesley Brodin officiating. Military graveside rites will be performed at Riverside Cemetery, Wallingford.

Mr. Anderson was born Sept. 7, 1897, at Wallingford to Peter and Christie Anderson. He attended rural Emmet County schools and the Jewell Lutheran College in Jewell. He was never married.

After serving in the U.S. Navy in World War I for four years, he farmed in Emmet County. Since 1948, he had made his home with his brother, Chester Anderson, in Wallingford, then entered the Lutheran Lakeside Home in 1968. He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church and of V.F.W. in Estherville.

Survivors include three brothers, Chester Anderson, Wallingford, Harold and Theodore Anderson, St. Paul, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Carl Newguard, Estherville; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister.

Pallbearers will be Lester Larsen, Lewis Sevatson, Chester Paulson, Leroy Schacherer, Leonard Ness and Porter Thoreson. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville until noon Tuesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 26, 1973)
