Wallingford – Chester S. Anderson, 82, Wallingford, died Saturday [June 10, 1978] at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Services for Mr. Anderson will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dale Jenson officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Wallingford.

Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements, where friend may call until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Anderson was born June 23, 1895, in Emmet County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter S. Anderson. He received his education in rural Wallingford schools and attended Jewell College, Jewell, for two terms. He was married to Gunver [Gunvor] Ness on Feb. 11, 1932, at Wallingford area until moving into Wallingford in 1962.

He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church, a charter member of the Sons of Norway, past member of the Twelve Mile Lake school board, a former township assessor and past member of the Emmet County Farm Bureau.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Gunver, Wallingford; one son, Lloyd Anderson, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Gale (Marlys) Bryant, Estherville; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Carl (Pearl) Newguard, Estherville.
