Nettie B. Mattox, 88, of Port Clinton, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, surrounded by her loving family.
Nettie was born Aug. 29, 1924, in Poca, W.Va., to Pearl W. and Gae Mona (Taylor) Priddy.
On Jan. 29, 1944, in Buffalo, Wash., she married Arthur Mattox and he preceded her in death Jan. 21, 2001.
Nettie worked in housekeeping at H. B. Magruder Hospital for 26 years until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Port Clinton Bible Methodist Church. Nettie will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, Phillip (Donna) Mattox and Roger (Nancy) Mattox; daughters, Brenda (Paul) Bolyard and JoAnna Russell; brothers, Curtis (Carolyn) Priddy, Kenneth Priddy, Russell (Mary) Priddy and Ray (Beth) Priddy; sisters, Linda (Gene) Bush, Sharon (Steve) Clark and Willadean (Mike) Higgenbottom; 21 grandchildren; many many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Nettie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Mattox; daughters, Donna Joseph and Judy Mattox; son, Larry Mattox, brothers: Harry and Alvin Priddy, sisters: Wanda Grant and Irene Hayth, son-in-law: Danny Russell, sisters-in-law: Geneva Priddy and Disa Priddy, brother-in-laws: Herb Grant and Ron Hayth.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, when funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27. The Rev. Deron Fourman and the Rev. Rusty Yost will officiate. Burial will be in Catawba Island Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Nettie may be given to Port Clinton Bible Methodist Church.
