She was born on February 16, 1941 to Elaine LeBlanc Haynes and John C. Haynes, Jr. in Abbeville, Louisiana.
She has been a resident of Port Arthur since the age of 2. Bessie graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1959, she then went to Port Arthur Business College. She worked at several places over the years, Merchants and Sabine Banks, Port Arthur Electrical and St. Mary Hospital. Bessie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she taught CCD.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her nephew, Martin Paul Hardy.
Bessie is survived by her sister, Jacqueline "Jackie" Hardy and husband, Paul; her nephew, Michael Paul Hardy and wife Dawn; one great niece and four great nephews along with several cousins.
