Job Harris served in Co. H, 66th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. He enlisted at the age of twenty-seven for one year on September 29, 1864, and was mustered out on June 3, 1865, at Bladensburg, Maryland.
The 66th Ohio Infantry was organized at Camp McArthur, Urbana, Ohio, to serve for three years. It was mustered in on December 17, 1861. On the expiration of its term of service the original members, except veterans and new recruits, were mustered out. The regiment was mustered out on July 15, 1865, at Louisville, Kentucky.
Job Harris was born about 1833 in New York. He married Laura Packard who was born about 1844 in Ohio. In 1870, and 1880 the Harris family lived in Harrison, Henry County, Ohio. Job was a joiner and carpenter by occupation.
In 1890, Job Harris lived in Rapid River Township, Kalkaska County, Michigan. He suffered from epilepsy and applied for a disability pension on February 7, 1890.
