Sidney B. HATFIELD, 54, Bourbon, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Sunday at 6 p.m. in his residence. He had not been ill.
Born June 5, 1912, in Marshall county, he had spent most of his life in the Bourbon area except for brief periods at Rochester and Fort Wayne. His parents were Bert and Bessie BERKEY HATFIELD.
His marriage was at Macy Nov. 11, 1937, to Harriet HURST, who survives.
Mr. Hatfield was territory manager for Hales and Hunter Feed company of Mentone, a member of Bourbon Masonic lodge and Scottish Rite of South Bend. He attended the Bourbon Methodist church.
Surviving, besides the wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Nancy) ROMINE, Bourbon, and Mrs. Terry (Sue) ABELL, Newport, R.I.; two grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. John ANGLIN, Bourbon. A brother preceded in death.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Deaton-Beigh funeral home, Bourbon. The Rev. Samuel PRITCHARD will officiate. Masonic services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
