Caroline Lutz was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lutz and one of three children. The family came to this country in the summer of 1855 stopping in Cleveland, Ohio six months and in Chicago a year. Then they came to Minooka where Mrs. Fey lived until 1866 when Henry Fey came back from the close of the civil war in 1865, and they were married. The couple came to Morris and her life has been spent here since and in the home where she died.

Mrs. Fey was a member of the Woman's Relief Corps and Pythian Sisters and an ardent worker in both organizations.
