Wayne Parker Shelton, 67, of Cedar Park and formerly of Goldthwaite died Saturday, April 20, 2013, in Cedar Park, Texas.
He was born Aug. 5, 1945, in Fort Worth, to Oliver Preston "O.P." Shelton and Rose Ellen "Posey" Perry Shelton. He was married to Marilyn Kay Gage on June 20, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a Lutheran/Baptist. He was a businessman and worked at Auto Parts in Goldthwaite and than at LCRA in Austin as a Facilities Technician II for 10 years. He served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Shelton of Cedar Park; sons, Michael Shelton of Houston, Travis Shelton and wife Carol of Austin and Bradley Shelton and wife Josie of Goldthwaite; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Heddleston of Round Rock; two step-sons, Heath Schmidt and Mark Schmidt both of Austin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousin.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel in Goldthwaite, with Rob Mundras and Jack Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
