Dr. S.L. Carter, Nitro, Is Dead

Dr. Samuel Lorenzo Carter, 76-year-old Nitro druggist of 2152 21st St., Nitro died yesterday.
He was the owner of the first drug store in Nitro, which he established 1925.
Dr. Carter was born July 7, 1873 in Covington, Va. the son of the late Bradley Carter and Roseanna Harman Carter, and was graduated from the college of medicine at Richmond university at Richmond, Va.
He came to Charleston in 1919, where he served as a druggist for the T. B. Stalnaker drug store here. He was a Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eliza Carter, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Richard O. Zerbe of Nitro; a brother, D. L. Carter of Clifton Forge, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. James Fleshman and Mrs. Henry Cale, both of Covington, Va.; and three grandsons.
Service and burial will be today in Baltimore, Md., under the direction of the Fred Cooke mortuary of Nitro.
