AUG. STOLTZMAN, PIONEER FARMER, CALLED BY DEATH
August Stoltzmann, aged 69 years, 7 months and 14 days, passed away Thursday afternoon at his home 1611 N. Ninth Street. He had been ailing with diabetes, and two weeks ago suffered a stroke of paralysis.
Mr. Stoltzmann was born in Preussen, Germany, April 3, 1852. In the year 1855 he came to this country with his parents, locating on a farm in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc County. March 26, 1874 he was united in marriage to Miss Eliza Siemers. In 1893 he moved to the town of Rhine where he was engaged in the general merchandise business. Here he remained until the year 1906, when he moved to this city where he has resided up to his demise.
Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Stoltzmann, three of whom preceded the father in death. Besides the bereaved widow the following children survive; William P. Stoltzmann, Chicago; Mrs. Robert Horneck, Elkhart Lake; Oscar at Louis Corners, Fred of Elkhart Lake; Albert and Mrs. Edgar Luhman of this city. Two brothers, William at Topeka, Kansas and Carl at Trivoli, Ill., and fourteen grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday from the late residence and at St. John's Evangelical Church, the Rev. E. R. Krueger officiating. Pallbearers will be the sons and son-in-law of the deceased. Interment will be made in Wildwood cemetery.
