John Lewis Somers, LDS ID L4WT-2N2, was the son of Margaret H. Schuler and Johann Wendell Somers.
He married first in December 1883, Priscilla Ann Ballou, L4WT-2VK (1859-1919), daughter of Eleanor Easter King and Henry Moss Crofford Ballou. To this union six children were born.
He married second in Ames, Story Co., Iowa, July 5, 1920, Etta M. (nee Wright) Schwartz. Etta was born in Iowa May 23, 1873; died in March 1969. Etta was the widow of Alfred L. Schwartz.

1. Roy Henry Somers, born near Hamlin, IA, on 20 Jan 1883 & married Clara Zierke on 20 June 1912. They had 2 children:
a. Harold Glen Somers, who married Audubon (?)
b. LaVaun Somers, who married Glen Fancher of Gray
2. Pearl Margaret Somers, born near Hamlin, IA, on 28 Jan 1885 & died 24 Jan 1921; married (?) Zierke.
3. Myrtle Ann Somers, born near Hamlin, IA, on 16 Feb 1888, and lived near Bagley, IA. She married Art Gilbert and had two sons:
a. Robert Gilbert of Bagley, IA
b. William Gilbert of Missouri
4. Louis Wendell Somers, findagrave #83034795, was born 28 Feb 1889 near Gray, IA; died in a farm accident on 28 April, 1895. (Six years old).
5. John Leslie Somers, findagrave #72213725, was born 12 Oct 1892 near Gray, IA; died 9 March 1971 at Spirit Lake, IA. He married Flora Mae Williams. They had thirteen (13) children
6. Merle Edwin Somers was born near Gray,IA, on 13 Sept 1899; died in Des Moines, IA on 13 April 1975.
