Mickey Rice, 70, departed this life to be with our Lord July 6, 1998. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Robert Bob" Rice. Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Anna Sauers- sister, Betty Chase- and son, Bruce. Also survived by children, Brad (Pam) Rice, Kathy (Bob) Root, Karen (Rich) Bartels, Brian Rice- sisters, Doris (Jim) Brummett of Pueblo, and Janey (Chuck) O'Toole of Melbourne, Fla. - as well as eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Pueblo native, Mickey attended Centennial High School but graduated from Central High School. She taught Sunday School for 20 years and was active in several organizations including Jayceettes and Assistance League, as well as other charitable organizations. Mickey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she met. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying golf, bowling, dancing, music, holiday gatherings and travel with her beloved husband. She always made time to correspond with her family and friends and was always serving others. Her final gift of service was the donation of her physical body to the Anatomical Board of the State of Colorado. She will be sadly missed by all. In lieu of food and flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. , 7 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 1998, at First Baptist Church, Ninth and Grand. Reception to follow.
