SHELBURNE, VT. - Colonel Norman Doric Brochu, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, April 23rd 1996 at his home.

He was born on February 11th 1937 in Hardwick, Vt., he was the son of Odias and Aurore Brochu.

He was a graduate of Hardwick Academy and the University of Vermont.

He graduated from Navigator Training at James Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas.

Upon completion of his training, Norman fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a Fighter Pilot. One of the highlights of his career was participating in the William Tell Competition at Tyndal Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla.

Col. Brochu retired after a 35-year career with the Vermont Air National Guard. He was a proud member of the 158th Fighter Wing, "The Green Mountain Boys," a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and a lifetime member of the National Guard Association.

Norman was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers; Daniel and Maurice.
