Mr. Curtis F. Hoover Sr. of Whitehall, Louisiana, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, just 1 day shy of his 83rd birthday. He was a veteran of the United States NAVY, who served on the USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. in the Korean Conflict; and was a member ofthe Carpenters Local Union #1098; an avid deer hunter; and a member of the Bar-KS Hunting Club. He was of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Hoover attended St. Ceclia Catholic School and Holy Cross Catholic School in New Orleans. He was the son of the late Dennis and Catherine (Larsen) Hoover.

Mr. Hoover was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Dennis Hoover Jr., Herbert Hoover Sr. and Loyal Hoover; and 1 sister: Shirley Hoover Anderson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years: Serena (Delatte) Hoover; 5 children: Linden Lanoux Jr. , Cynthia Tureau and her husband: Ralph, Curtis Hoover Jr., Peggy Fontenot and her husband: Greg, and Lynn Rice and her husband: Chris; 11 wondrful grandchildren; 8 precious great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Nelva Hoover Muhobrac and Leah Hoover Dicharry; other relatives; and many dear friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, April 21, 2013, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Whitehall, Louisiana. Fr. Gerald Lefebvre and Fr. Jason Palermo, officiated.
Pallbearers were: Brandon Hoover, Steven Tureau, Gregory Fontenot, Jr., Tyler Rice, Brady Rice, Khris Lanoux, Lee Anderson, Brett Bell & Everett Oubre.
Honorary pallbearers were: Edward and Wilbert Delatte and Chris Rice.
