June Runyan, only child of Joseph Van Nuffel and Rosalia Wauman Van Nuffel, was born in Antwerp, Belgium, October 6, 1919, and died February 17, 1992, at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, at the age of 72 years, four months and 11 day.
She was raised in Antwerp and attended schools there.
November 6, 1945 in Antwerp, she was united in marriage to Vernon A. Runyan. The union was blessed with eight children. They made their home in Hardy, Nebr., since 1964.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Vernon A. Runyan, Jr., a grandson, Kevin Lewellyn, and granddaughter, Sheri Fayle.
She is survived by: her husband, Vernon of Hardy; her children, Charles Arthur Runyan of Columbus, Nebr., Mrs. Jerry (Edith) Marquart of Byron, Nebr., Mrs. Don (Lucille) Hancock of Hardy, Mrs. Barry (Charlotte) Miron of East Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Lee (Nancy) Lewellyn of Harvard, Nebr., Mrs. Bill (Jeannie) Kussman, Billy Runyan, both of Hardy; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held February 20 from Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, with Father Stanley Shieffer officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Courtland.
