CARDWELL
Saturday night at 10:30 Mrs. Nannie W. Cardwell passed away at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ella Graham, after a lingering illness covering many months. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon a the residence, conducted by Rev. H. E. Spears, of St. Philip's church, and the interment was in Spring Hill Cemetery. The death of Mrs. Cardwell closed a very beautiful and noble life. She was born in this county and resided here all her life and her gracious and lovely disposition endeared her to every one. For a number of years she was one of the most loved teachers at the Graded School, but her health would not permit her to resume her duties there last September, though, in recognition of her services, the trustees held the position open for her and employed a substitute, hoping she would regain her health. One of the sad signs at the funeral were the boys and girls whom she taught and who loved her, gathered weeping at her home. Beautiful floral tributes came from the school. She was a devoted member of the Episcopal church, and her whole life was a lesson in unpretending Christianity. Besides her sister and brothers she leaves a niece, Mrs. J. Morgan Chinn, of Frankfort, whom she raised as a daughter from her babyhood, and who was here to attend the funeral.
