John B. Evans, 73, of Lake Road, Tully, died Thursday. He was a life resident of Tully. He was an operating engineer for 30 years and a member of Operating Engineers Local 545 in Syracuse. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2354 and American Legion Post 936, Tully. He also was a member of Cortland Moose Club 1512.
Survivors: His wife of 53 years, the former Frieda M. Streiff; three daughters, Rhonda Evans of Cazenovia, Elaine Potter of Tully and Phyllis Brame of Georgetown; a son, John E. of Phoenix; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Services and burial: Private. No calling hours. Hall Funeral Home, Lafayette, has arrangements. Contributions: Tully Ambulance, Tully 13159.
