Emory John Gravelle, 82, of Davis Manor, West Lafayette, died at 1:26 PM Saturday, Feb. 13, 1988, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. He had been in failing health for the past six months. Born in Clifton, IL, Oct. 24, 1905, he came to Lafayette in 1945 from Chicago. His marriage to Violette A. Kirch, was in Chicago, June 4, 1938; she died March 9, 1971.

Mr. Gravelle was a purchasing agent for Monon Railroad before retiring in 1970. He had worked for the railroad for many years. He was a former member of St. Mary Cathedral.

Surviving are a son, John E. Gravelle of Cincinatti, OH; two daughters, Mary Ann (Mrs. William) Heinzer of West Lafayette and Sandra (Mrs. Vernon) Pardue of Crawfordsville; and two sisters, Leah Rabideau and Elizabeth Marshall, both of Clifton, IL. Funeral mass Feb. 15 at St. Mary Cathedral, Monsignor Fred Potthoff officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
