She was born July 29, 1919 in Red Star, Arkansas, the daughter of Ira David Samuels and Talitha Ward Samuels.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fred Sanders; five brothers, Carl, Lewis, Leslie (Deck), Earl and Everette and two sisters, Mary Eaton and Cora Carroll.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by four sons, Kenneth (Shorty) Yates and his wife Bobby, Hershel Sanders and his wife Kaye, Jimmy Sanders and Charlie Sanders; three daughters, Carolyn McClung and her husband Wayne, Ruby Smith and Joan Knowles; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24 at Moore's Chapel with the family present 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday at Moore's Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
