Mr. John Campbell, age 85 of Jacksboro passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2013. He was a retired coal miner and WWII Navy Veteran who loved the outdoors. He was proud to be a member of the fifth generation of his family to live in the mountains of Campbell County. Born May 27, 1927, he was the eldest son and preceded in death by parents, Horace and Alice E. Inman Campbell, brother, Harley Campbell and grandson, Dustin Campbell.
Survived by wife of 54 years, Mary Helen Carnes Campbell; son, Gary Campbell and wife, Rose of Jacksboro; daughter, Beverly Ellison and husband, Rick of LaFollette; grandsons, Shane and Cody Ellison, Scott Campbell, Brandon Wilburn; granddaughter, Andrea Bowman and husband, Derrek; great grandsons, Keaton and Jebidiah; brothers, William L. Campbell, Jim Campbell and wife, Margaret, Carl Campbell and wife, Gail all of LaFollette, Frank Campbell and wife, Alberta of Florida, Harold Campbell and wife, Jewell of Ohio; sister, Sue Seiber and husband, Fred of Clinton.
Funeral Services Thursday 8 P.M. at Walters Chapel with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Family and friends will meet at Walters Funeral Home Friday at 9:30 A.M. and proceed to Campbell Memorial Gardens for graveside services and interment.
