William Thomas Pulley was born on January 7, 1844 in Stewart County, Tennessee, the son of Elisha I Pulley (1830–1909)] and his wife [and she would be Lucinda (Smith) Pulley (1830–1921).
Although some sources list William as being married on July 1, 1879 in Stewart County to Josephine Kent, that record lists the groom as Jacob/Jake Pulley.
A retired farmer living in Montgomery County, Tennessee for about 15 years, William was 89 years old when he died at home of the flu on January 19, 1933 in Clarksville, after being ill for two months.
Survivors included daughters Mrs Marvin Goodwin at Cumberland City, Tennessee, Mrs P S Cottell and Mrs Maggie L Heflin in Clarksville, son John "Thomas" Pulley of Nashville, and brothers James Pulley at Morris Hill, Indiana, Wiley Pulley in Erin, Tennessee and Henry Pulley of Dover, Tennessee.
Prayer Services were held on January 20th, and was buried in Riverview Cemetery, Clarksville.
