"Rutherford L. Miller, r 2 box 93 Walkerton, brother of Earl Miller of Syracuse, died at 1:15 p.m. Friday Nov. 14, at Fountainview Terrace Nursing Home. He was 83 years old."

"Born to Sam and Anna (Strieby) Miller in Syracuse on March 30, 1897, he lived in the LaPorte area for the past 34 years, coming from Elkhart and South Bend area. He was a die setter for 32 years and had been a foreman at Taylor Sales and the Aluminum Works in Elkhart. He was a retiree of Studebaker Corporation in South Bend and operated a boat rental business at Fish Lake for 34 years."

"Miller was a member of the Fish Lake American Legion Post 400 and served with the U.S. Army in World War I."

"On April 04, 1937, in Elkhart, he married Margaret Wozniat of Elkhart, who survives."

"Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Walter Bealor of Fish Lake and Mrs. Clyde Organ of LaPorte; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and another brother, Oliver of Minneapolis, Minn. He was preceded in death by three sons, one sister and two brothers."

"Funeral services were held on Monday morning at Saint Anthony Catholic Church at Fish Lake with Rev. Leonard Kronkowski officiating. Internment was Olive Chapel."
