Stephen "Mallie" Blackburn, 24, of Carbondale, Ill., formerly of Williamson, W.Va., died Thursday, April 18, 2013, in Carbondale, Ill.
He was born July 20, 1988, in South Williamson, the son of Gary Blackburn and Sandra Hopkins Blackburn of Oreana, Ill., formerly of Williamson.
He was involved in computer research and was a member of the East Williamson Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mallie and Nina Adkins Blackburn, and his maternal grandfather, Alex Hopkins.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Orlean Hopkins of Forest Hills.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in the Weaver Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Allen Shouse officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy.
