Mr. Turner was preceded in death by a brother, Stafford Turner; and a sister, Doris Turner (1939-1940).
He was a graduate of Unity High School and a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Perry was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
He was the father of four children Ryan Turner and wife Pamela, Elliot Turner and wife Pamela, Petrina Moore and Mashara T. Hernandez, all of Statesville; two stepsons, Derrick (Angel) Dalton, of Statesville, and David (Shalah) Dalton, of Greensboro; two brothers, Lemuel Turner, of Conyers, Ga., and Hugh (Joyce) Turner, of Fort Washington, Md.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four aunts, Juanita Morrison, Eva Turner, Juanita Turner and Sally Morrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
