On September 10, 2003, I lost my eternal soul mate, Bill Crump.

After bravely and successfully battling leukemia, Bill succumbed due to complications of pneumonia.

The result of a blind date, we married on December 20, 1965. The next 37 years brought us two wonderful sons, a beautiful daughter-in-law, three awesome grandchildren, and too many amazing memories to list. Growing up on a farm, Bill gained a great work ethic which he carried his entire life.

He retired from Mountain Fuel after 35 years of service.

Bill was a true patriot and served in the U.S. Army Infantry in Vietnam.

Bill was a member of B.P.O.E. #2442 for nearly two decades.

He enjoyed serving in many positions, but most proudly as Exalted Ruler. The Elks gave us numerous friendships and good times.

Bill made a journey that led him to embrace the Catholic faith.

He was baptized, confirmed and received Holy Communion on March 30, 2002.

An artist and craftsman at heart, Bill most of all loved working on his home and garden, creating his own "Eden," that he loved to share with family and friends. He loved to travel, go camping and experience fine wine and dining with his family and friends. There wasn't a life Bill didn't touch, nor a stranger he didn't talk and talk and talk to. Being "The King of Comfort," and a free spirit, Bill was a nudist at heart and home.

Remembered and cherished by his best friend and loving wife Linda Simonsen Crump, Centerville; son Richard Dale Crump and his wife Kim, Clinton; whom we both adore, and their children Tony, Allison and Lindsey, one brother Ted (Natasha) Crump, Washington D.C.; sisters Colleen (John) DeWitt, Rupert, ID; and Dawna Kidd, Maine; five brothers-in-law, Alvin (Linda) Simonsen, West Jordan; Peter (Terry) Simonsen, San Francisco, CA; Phil Simonsen, Bountiful; Eric (Linda) Simonsen, Bountiful; and Miles (Allison) Simonsen, Bountiful; his second "mom" Ida Simonsen, Bountiful; and nieces and nephews. Bill is currently enjoying his reunion with his second son John Matthew Crump, his mother Gwen, father Leo, nephew Alvin "Bino" Simonsen III, brother Lewis, father-in-law Alvin Simonsen Sr., and best friend Keith Kummer.

Our gratitude to Dr. Reilly and LDS hospital staff. "We fought the good fight right up to the very end." It's hard to tell the difference between bloodlines and love-lines. Thanks to all our family and friends.

The funeral Mass for Bill will be celebrated Thursday morning, Sept. 18, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, Orchard Drive at 1800 So., Bountiful. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 7 to 8:45 p.m. at the church.

Vigil Prayers will be at 8:45 p.m. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 No. 400 East Bill, Thanks for the memories, loving you always from the "heart of my bottom". Yours, Loodles
