CHARLENE WEDGEWORTH YOUNG

Charlene, age 94, went to her Heavenly Home on Friday, June 7, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. In her early years, Charlene was a resident of Fryeburg and Galliano, and retired in Springfield, LA. Charlene was very involved in her church and dedicated 30 years as a Sunday School teacher. She was an accomplished seamstress, master gardener, and success driven individual. she was a devoted mother and grandmother and truly cared for others. Her outreach impacted many hearts and will be greatly missed.

Charlene is survived by her children, Pamela Young Eserman, John E. Young (Doris); sisters, Martha Walther, Joanne Burchfield; grandchildren, Misty Alvis (Scott), Clifton W. Eserman (Gary Gaede), Chantel Freeman (Larry), Courtney Anador (Abraham), Brice Eserman ( Miranda), and Justin Young (Christy); great-grandchildren, Jessica, Amber, Cole, Travis, Trevor, Maddie, Sofia, Zoie, Ellie, Ellis, Xander, Mia, and Brody; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Young, brother, Robert "Sonny" Wedgeworth; and parents, Charles and Maggie Wedgeworth.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Springfield First Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until the funeral services at 7:00 p.m. Bro. Robert Bannister will officiate. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin, Louisiana at 10:30 a.m.
