First Lieutenant Quay was the pilot of U.S.
Army Air Corps B-29 Superfortress #42-65255,
serving with the 483rd Bomb Squadron, 505th
Bomb Group (VH) during World War II.

He was one of eleven airmen killed when the
heavy bomber crashed on takeoff from the
airfield at Tinian, Marianas Islands.

The crew lost were:

2nd Lt. Victor J Petek
