On December 24, 1946 in Oates, Missouri, Odessia was united in marriage to Darrell Eugene Myers and to this loving union three children were born.
Odessia was a dedicated member of Locust Grove United Baptist Church. Odessia's faith was often expressed when she would lead in prayer. Her family and others loved to hear her pray. Odessia's hobbies included going to church, sewing, quilting, cooking, and talking on the phone to her best friend, Ruby. Odessia's greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Odessia was proceded in death by her parents and her husband of 64 years. She was also preceded by seven brothers, Lebert, Henry, Sylvester, Elijah, Silas, Luvern, and Lonnie Barton. three sisters, Martha Smith, Edith Crocker and Daisy Barton, one son-in-law, Raymond Mathes and step-mother Goldie Radford.
Odessia is survived by two sons, Randell Lee Myers and wife Susan of Oates, Dirk Dewayne Myers and wife Janice of Lesterville, one daughter, Rinda Dian Johnson and husband Lingell of Oates, nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Donnie Barton and wife Dorothy of Potosi, five sisters, Letha Black of Barnhart, Doshia Miner of Oates, Doretta Lancaster and husband Carl of O'Fallon, Dorothy Elliot of St. Louis and Rozella Crocker and husband Reldon of St. Ann.
Odessia will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn her passing.
