KING, DAVIS M.K., 67 businessman. In keeping with a long family tradition, Davis M.K. King entered the Hawaii political arena as a young man. It was a brief stay, however, as King opted for a lower-profile life in the business sector, leaving the politics to his father, former Gov Samuel Wilder King, and his brother, Samuel P. King. 67, died Saturday at The Queen’s Medical Center. King was educated at Punahou School, Admiral Farragut Academy in New Jersey and Georgetown University. His university education was interrupted by the attack on Pearl Harbor and he returned home to volunteer for the Pearl Harbor work force that did Pearl Harbor repair work. He later served in the Army, earning the Asiatic-Pacific Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was active in Republican Party politics here in the mid-1950s. King was a past director of International Savings and Loan and was an officer and broker at Pan American Financial Corp. He later was president of King Insurance Agency and was principal broker of King, Ltd., Real Estate. He is survived by his brothers, U.S. Senior District Judge Samuel P. King and retired Navy Capt. Evans P.K. King; sisters, Mrs. Robert (Charlotte) Ebert and Dr. Pauline N. King; nieces and nephews. Graveside service 10 a.m. Monday at Oahu Cemetery. Casual attire. No flower; donations to favorite charities. [Honolulu Advertiser, 7 December 1989]
