Norfolk - Jessie Anthony Grimes, 66, a native of Norfolk, Va. and a long time resident of William T. Hall and Sentara Lifecare in Portsmouth, Va. expired peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, April 19, 2013. Jessie was born August 30, 1946 to the Jesse Longworth and Esther Tucker Grimes. She was a lifetime member of St. John's A.M.E. Church in Norfolk, Va. where she was showered by her missionary with an umbrella of love and spiritual enhancements. She leaves to cherish her memory a twin sister, Janice Grimes Phelps, an older sister, Esther Gorham-Whitley(Jimmie) many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and dedicated healthcare providers. A funeral service will be conducted at St. John's A.M.E. Church, 545 E. Bute Street on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 12 noon with the Rev. John D. Burton.
