LONE OAK - Lola Beavers, 84, of Bay City, formerly of Lone Oak, died Wednesday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at the Lone Oak Baptist Church with Robert Cooke officiating. Burial is in Hooker Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 15, 1914 in Hunt County to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fortenberry. She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. Mrs. Beavers was a retired secretary for Texas-New Mexico Power Company.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Charlotte Beavers of Emory; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Wally Hart of Bay City; three brothers, James and Johnny Fortenberry of Tyler and Howard Fortenberry of North Carolina; two sisters, Hazel Powell of Greenville and Jo Ruth Clark of San Angelo and four grandchildren, Richard Hart, Kelly Hart, Justin Beavers and Carrie Beavers.
Her husband, G.L. Beavers, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bartley Funeral Home of Lone Oak.
