Other: Age 78. "Aunt Hanna Ritchie Dead -- About a year ago, Mrs. Hanna Ritchie sold everything and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, to live with her son, Dr. Park Ritchie. She was unhappy there and moved to Indianapolis, then she broke her hip and afterwards she died. As a young girl, she was known in the Martinsville area as Hannah Parks. She was born in the southern part of the state, 8 March 1819. Before her marriage to Rev. James Ritchie, 12 March 1845, she was a school teacher. About 15 years ago, they moved back to the area to live and Rev. Ritchie died several years ago. She had 2 children, Dr. Park Ritchie of St. Paul and Mrs. Kate Evans who died several years ago. Mrs. Ritchie was almost the last of the old family of Parks. One brother, Dr. Elijah Parks, is still living at Memphis, and a half brother, James Parks, lives at Ellettsville. P.M. Parks was a brother and one of the pioneers of the area. She was an aunt to T.H., M.H. and P.M. Parks and to Mrs. R.H. Tarleton, Mrs. M.P. Simpson and to the late E.F. Branch." [From the Martinsville Republican for March 20, 1890: "Mrs. Hannah Ritchey, widow of the late Father Ritchey, slipped and fell, injuring herself. Her recovery is doubtful. Age 70."]
